WEBMASTER'S NOTE: This book brings out in a realistic fashion a story about an evening class in Sheldon's own Church. The questions in the story are literal copies of the questions actually asked by the young people in his own congregation during the reading of the story. Every Sunday a list of written questions was handed to him by the young people and during the week he put them into the chapter of the story to be read at the next Sunday evening service.
This fact accounts for the nature of the questions asked. There has been no attempt in this story to give exhaustive answers to wise, theological, or deeply philosophical questions. Keep in mind that Christian fiction and Allegories are not detailed guides to theology.
This is well written, by Charles M. Sheldon, who was also the author of several other early day books of Christian fiction, including the classic "In His Steps," which popularized the expression WWJD, or "What Would Jesus Do?" - JHD

Titles of other books by Charles Sheldon: "The Twentieth Door"; "The Crucifixion of Philip Strong"; "His Brother's Keeper"; "Richard Bruce"; and "In His Steps". I am not familiar with all of them, but my daughter in law, Gail Dearmore, has just finished typing this present one from my old copy of the book, and we have already published a digital copy of "In His Steps". We plan to post various other books. - JHD. |
