WHERE DID THE TIME GO

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

John 10: 10 King James Version

I have been trying for the last three days to get started on a project and every time I started to do it something would happen and I couldn’t start it. This verse came to my mind last night and I determined that I was not going to let satan steal any more of my time. So I started the project at nine o’clock last night. Four hours have passed and it is one o’clock in the morning, but I have finished the project and satan has been defeated.

We need to be on the alert for the sneaky attacks of satan because nothing would make him happier than to stop us from serving Jesus. If we’re not careful we will allow satan to invade our minds and hearts, and we will become judgmental and critical of our family and friends. Any time that we allow criticism and sarcasm into our hearts it not only makes satan happy; it prevents us from spreading the good news of a risen Saviour.

If satan is coming against you during the day and stealing your time, stay up and don’t go to bed until you finish what God has told you to do. It may be difficult to stay awake, but I wonder how many sleepless nights Jesus spent when He was here on earth praying for us. The more that we come to understand the horror and agony that Jesus suffered on the cross for us, the easier it will be to stay awake for Him.

Even as I am typing this devotional, there are people who are committing suicide or thinking about killing themselves. We must be about the Master’s business before it is too late!
