TOO MUCH OR NOT ENOUGH

“And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.”

My brother-in-law was working on a roof a few days ago and got too much sun. If we stay in the sun too long without taking a break and getting cooled off, we will become weak. The same is true with Jesus, the Son of God, if we don’t stay in His Presence we will become weak. Often, we get too much sun, but not enough of the Son.

This verse tells us that immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand and caught him. We may not feel like Jesus is with us and helping us, however He comes to us when we call on Him. Just as children go to their parents only when they want something, many times we treat Jesus the same way.

Jesus asks us why we doubt. He has proven His Love to us over and over again. He gave His life for us and shed His blood for us. He can do no more to prove His Love for us. I think that instead of questioning His Love for us, we need to question our love for Him. If we really love Him, what are we doing to prove it to Him.

Are you getting too much sun, and not enough of the Son of God? Are you talking to Him every day, or do you just go to Him when you need or want something? Please don’t hurt Him by just going to Him when you need something. He is the answer to every situation and heartache. Only Jesus can see into our hearts.
