Yesterday morning I watched a church service on television and I felt like I had gone to Heaven. The pastor got up to preach. He read the Scripture passage and started to preach. He had only been preaching for two minutes and then he said the precious name of Jesus. He was unable to keep preaching or say anything because his heart was so full of love for Jesus. He got all choked up and had tears in his eyes and all he could say over and over was Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
I completely understand the reason that the pastor couldn’t keep preaching because ninety percent of the time my heart is so full of love for Jesus that I am unable to say anything. I stand amazed and humbled that the Saviour of the world loves me so much that He died for me. Oh dear friends, there is no other friend like our precious Saviour. He is a friend beyond compare. To have the joy, privilege and honor of serving Him is the only reason I get out of bed in the morning. Without Jesus, nothing in life is worthwhile. Unless we have Jesus in our hearts as our personal Saviour, we have nothing.
There was such a look of love and humility on that pastor’s face that it touched my heart deeply. When he could talk again, he said that he was not going to preach, that Jesus had taken over the service. When he said that, my heart was filled with so much joy and happiness that I literally shouted! I had such a joyous day yesterday because of this dear pastor.
What a testimony of love for Jesus this dear pastor showed us. I have prayed for this compassionate and wonderful pastor. I am calling the pastor today to express my gratitude and appreciation for the love and respect he gave Jesus by allowing Him to take over the service. Oh, that we would have more church services like this; services that are so filled with love for Jesus that it is impossible to sing, preach or do anything because the precious name of Jesus so overwhelms us.
Jesus, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. There is no other name as precious as the beautiful name of Jesus. What a Saviour! All hail, King Jesus! Worthy is the Lamb of God! Jesus, You are indeed the beautiful Rose of Sharon and we love You and appreciate all that You do for us. Thank You for loving us especially when we are unlovable. Amen.
