I have a dear friend who is eighty years old whose husband was a pastor. She sends me encouraging emails almost every day. She takes time out of her busy schedule to write me. Many times God has used something she said to encourage me when I was feeling discouraged.
She is still active and serving Jesus where she lives. There is no telling how many lives and hearts have been won to Jesus through her faithfulness to Jesus. We need to pray for our Pastor’s wives as they have the responsibility of encouraging, comforting, and being a help to our Pastors.
Joyce Landorf says on one of her teaching tapes “I was at the airport and a lady came up to me and pointing to herself said “Pastors and their wives need encouragement”. One of the greatest Pastors I ever had used to call his wife up to stand beside him at least once a month at the podium. He would put his arms around her and give her a kiss and tell her how much he loved her and how he thanked God for giving her to him as his wife.
A pastor’s wife many times has to do the jobs in the church that no one else has volunteered to do. She has to keep their home clean and comfortable and make sure that her husband has time to study without being interrupted. Thank God for Pastor’s wives! Please tell your Pastor’s wife how much you appreciate her.
