THE ANCHOR OF OUR SOUL

“Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”

There are times when life’s storms batter us with doubts, confusion, heartaches, loneliness, turmoil, and desperation. Thank God that we have an anchor of our souls who is our precious Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ! When our souls are anchored in Jesus all hell can come against us but we will be held secure by His faithfulness and protection. When the storms of life begin to overwhelm us, Jesus will put His compassionate umbrella up and hold us close to His heart of safety with His anchor of unconditional love.

I receive a lot of prayer requests from people who are heart broken asking me to pray for their marriages, their families and their relationships with other people. How I thank God that He allows me to pray for people. Almost every week I receive emails from people who are lonely and hurting and who are in turmoil. My answer to all of these dear people is to go to Jesus and tell Him how they are feeling. He is the only one who can calm the storms of life and settle the raging wars of criticism, ridicule and sarcasm that are waged against us.

Not only is our anchor, our precious Saviour, sure and stedfast, He is also our comforter. He gently wipes the tears from our eyes and from our hearts with His kisses of understanding and tenderness. There is no one like Jesus! No one loves us like Jesus loves us. He is a friend beyond compare. Thank You, our beautiful Saviour, for loving us unconditionally. Indeed, You are tender, kind, gentle, wonderful and precious.

Are you anchored in Jesus today? Have you said yes to Jesus and invited Him into your heart to be your personal Saviour? If not, I urge you; I plead with you to do it right now before it is too late. Unless you have Jesus as the anchor of your soul, you are without hope and life’s storms will drown you and you will sink and not be able to get up again. Reach out and take hold of the anchor of our souls right now and you will have a peace that you have never known.
