SHOW THEM

“Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.”

Luke 8: 38, 39 King James Version

Jesus told the man to show his family how he had been changed by the Love of Jesus. I made the mistake many years ago of telling my family that I was changed, but I didn’t act like I was changed. We will never be able to reach others for Jesus until we allow Jesus to not only save us, but to give us a heart full of love for others.

Until your family can see the difference in you, you will never be effective in leading people to Jesus. If we have a burning desire in our hearts to tell others of the great things Jesus has done for us, then we have allowed Jesus to change our hearts.

For many years, I had a self pity party. There is a difference between hurting and feeling sorry for ourselves. Yes, I was hurting badly, but I was also feeling sorry for myself. I was a very selfish person. I thought only about myself and how I had been mistreated. I never once thought about how I had hurt other people.

My heart breaks when I think about all the people that I have hurt in my life. Some of them I wasn’t even aware that I had hurt them, but others I hurt on purpose. I was full of anger and hatred for everyone. I certainly didn’t trust anybody. One day Jesus reached down His Hand and lifted me out of the garbage of my life, told me that He Loves me, and promised He would never leave me!

Do you know this precious Friend of mine? You may have asked Jesus into your heart and you may be saved, but do you really know Him? Do you know how His Heart breaks when we hurt our family and loved ones? Do you know that He cries with you and laughs with you?

There is no friend like Jesus! He is the only one who can see into our wounded hearts and see the hidden tears. We can go to Him any time and never have to make an appointment. He is always available to us. Are we available to Him? Does He have to make an appointment to talk to us?
