O THE JOY

“And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.”

Isaiah 12 King James Version

As I was walking through my home yesterday, waves of joy washed over me. I looked around my trailer and saw all of the evidences of love from my family and friends that have been expressed with the beautiful gifts they have given me at Christmas every year and on my birthdays. Sometimes they gave me gifts just because they love me and were thinking of me. Then I said thank You to Jesus because all of the gifts that decorate my home have really come from the heart of Jesus. He just used different people as His messengers of His love for me.

O the joy of being loved by the Saviour of the world! What excitement, what happiness and what peace I enjoy wrapped secure and safe in the unconditional loving arms of my dearest friend, Jesus! To know that He is with me every minute of the day and night fills my heart to overflowing with gratitude and happiness. The King of kings and Lord of lords allowed Himself to be tortured and beaten beyond recognition for me. There is no greater love than the love of Jesus and our Heavenly Father!

What excitement, what happiness and what joy are mine as I await the soon coming return of my precious Saviour. I will see Him face to face and be able to gaze upon the lovely face of my Saviour and look Him in His compassionate eyes. There is no greater joy than to be loved by the Master Himself! To be held in His tender, loving, sweet and compassionate arms of mercy and understanding is such a wonderful feeling that there are no words to describe it. In fact, there is no word in the entire dictionary that can adequately describe our precious Saviour and King.

When I think of the amazing and undeserved love that He extended to me on August 14th, 1980 when He reached down His nail scarred hands to me and lifted me up out of the garbage of my life and drew me close to His loving heart of mercy, kindness, grace, forgiveness, compassion and understanding, I am awed and amazed. Jesus, the Saviour of the world, loves me, Joanne Lowe. I know He loves you but He loves me! Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, Jesus!

I am deeply humbled to know that He loves me so much that He forgave me of all my sins and saved me. Not only did He forgive me of every sin that I had ever committed but He will never bring them up again or use them against me in any way. O that we would be like our loving Saviour and not bring up people’s past mistakes to them.

On that day, the greatest day of my life, He told me that He loved me. It was the first time in my life that anybody had ever said “I love you, Joanne”. Is it any wonder that I love Him so much! There is a song “How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me”. Indeed, we can’t say thanks. O we can utter the words and really mean them from our heart but none of us have any comprehension of the horrible suffering, torment, horror and anguish that our blessed Saviour endured for us on the cross of torture. He endured all of that because not only is His heart filled with love; He is Love!

Saying thanks to Jesus is so inadequate after all He has done for us and continues to do for us every day. The greatest way we can try to show our appreciation for His sacrifices is to love one another. He died for us, the least we can do for Him is to die to our own selfish wants and desires. Do you have the joy of Jesus in your heart? Has there ever been a time when you gave your heart and life to Jesus? If not, I urge you, I plead with you to do it even as you read this. Please don’t put it off as you may not have another hour to live. Say “yes” to Jesus before it is too late!
