When we are watching a television program we need to ask ourselves “Would Jesus be happy watching this program”? When we go somewhere, does it make Jesus happy? When we say something, is Jesus pleased with what comes out of our mouths?
We should never go anywhere that we would not be comfortable taking Jesus. We should never say anything that would bring disgrace to the Name of Jesus. We should never watch anything or listen to any music unless it reminds us of Jesus. This verse says to do all in the name of Jesus. If it doesn’t make Him happy, we shouldn’t do it. If we don’t want Him listening to the kind of music we listen to, we need to stop listening to it.
If we are spending more time watching television than we are telling people that Jesus Loves them, then we are not making Him happy. If we are too busy doing things for Jesus that we don’t have time for Him and for others, then we need to rearrange our schedules. We shouldn’t take on another project if we are already stressed with all that we are doing now.
Making Jesus happy should be the top priority in our lives. It should come before our families, our loved ones and our friends. I receive so many emails from people who tell me that their families think they are crazy to spend so much time serving Jesus. When Jesus was here on earth, He spent every hour serving His Father. He was available to people all the time except when He withdrew to pray or rest. Are you giving your all to Jesus?
