HIS LOVING HEART

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

Isaiah 53: 3 - 6 King James Version

This song has been my favorite song for many years “O WHAT A SAVIOR” by Robert Metzgar. These beautiful words touch my heart deeply when I sing them or hear them. “O what a Savior. O hallelujah. His heart was broken on Calvary. His hands were nail scarred. His side was riven. He gave his life-blood for even me.” He did this for you and He did this for me. The title says it better than any sermon I have ever heard, “O WHAT A SAVIOR.”

This song has been my heart’s song to Jesus for many years but I personalize it when I sing it to Him. This is what I sing to Him “O what a Saviour, O hallelujah. Your heart was broken on Calvary. Your hands were nail scarred. Your side was riven. You gave Your life’s-blood for even me.”

The words to this song just hit me fresh and anew. As soon as I typed the previous paragraph, I started singing it to Him. I stood up, raised both my hands up in respect and honor of Him and starting singing. I could barely sing because I was laughing and crying at the same time. I was laughing with joy because He loves me so much and I was crying because of the pain and heartaches that He endured for me.

Even now as I am typing this devotional, the tears are flowing down my cheeks. Oh Jesus! Oh Jesus!! Oh Jesus!!! What a precious Saviour You are! I love You with all of my heart. You are the very breath that I take. You are the Sonshine of my heart. Your faithfulness to me through the years has been my anchor in the midst of life’s storms of criticism and ridicule. Indeed, You do understand how it hurts when people criticize me because You too were criticized.

How can I tell You how much I love You, precious Jesus? I can’t tell You because there are no words in any language to describe how much I love You. However, You can see into my heart and You know how much I love You. Please forgive me when I fail You and hurt You. Thank You so much for loving me. Thank You from the bottom of my heart for saving my soul and for paying the price so that I could be saved.

One glorious day, I will see You face to face. Oh how I long for that day when I will be able to give You a hug. I will kneel and kiss Your precious feet. I wonder how many miles You walked when You were here on earth. Jesus, there is no one like You. Only You can take the pain, horror and sorrow from our hearts. Indeed, You do have a loving heart.

Thank You, Jesus, for all that You have done for me and for all that You do for me every day. You are beautiful and lovely, my precious Saviour. Thank You for caring for me and thank You for being my friend, a friend who never leaves me, not even for one minute. You are never too busy to talk to me and I really appreciate it. Thank You for forgiving me from that old rugged cross. I love You, dear sweet Jesus.
