DISCOURAGEMENT

“I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”

Psalm 18: 1 – 3 King James Version

It doesn’t matter what trials or heartaches we are facing; Jesus is with us to encourage and comfort us. We may hurt so badly when we are in the midst of the heartache, but Jesus has promised that He will never leave us. He not only is our tower; He is our high tower. When we are discouraged if we will start praising Jesus and thanking Him for being with us, we will have a peace in knowing that He cares and understands.

Sometimes we feel like certain people are our enemies, but we all have enemies of discouragement, doubts, and heartaches. We have enemies of family problems, financial worries and employment security. We need to take all of these to Jesus and allow Him to give us His Peace. He is faithful to listen and understand how we are feeling.

I’m sure that when Jesus was here on earth that there were times when He was discouraged. He wanted to give the people the gift of His Love, but often He was rejected. If you have ever given someone something and had it rejected, then you have just a glimpse of how Jesus felt when people said no to Him.

If you are discouraged and hurting today, I urge you to go to Jesus and allow Him to comfort and encourage you as only He can do. He will set you on His lap of Love and hold you close to His Heart and kiss away your tears of pain and discouragement.
