MORNING

Perfect through sufferings. Heb. 2:10

My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matt. 26:38, 39

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Psa. 116:3

Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. Psa. 69:20

I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. Psa. 142:4

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Isa. 53:3

EVENING

The Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is. Ex. 20:11

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psa. 19:1

By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. Psa. 33:6, 9

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. Isa. 40:15

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Heb. 11:3

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? Psa. 8:3, 4
