I have been the Pastor of a thriving Baptist Church for over eighteen years. It is
from this vantage point that I have viewed religion. This book is an attempt to record some
of these observations.
I have written about general conditions and am very much aware of the fine exceptions
to what I have written that exist in religion.
My life has been dedicated to a proclamation of religious truth. The desire of my life
and the purpose of this book is to remove some of the debris that covers this truth.
I have tried to use every weapon available to accomplish my purpose. The battering
ram of ridicule as well as the rapier of satire have been used along with the gentleness
of a quiet laugh at ourselves.
The words in this book had to be spoken. It could be wished that a more eloquent
voice had been raised but since none has, I have done what I could. ------ Author (Many of the other writings, Sermons, Articles, books,
etc., of the late Dr. Norman Wells will be posted on our site as soon as we can find time.
As noted earlier, we have been given "exclusive publishing or publication rights" to all of
the writings, audio tapes, published or unpublished, of the grand old independent Baptist
Pastor.) Some of this material is even still in the form of his own handwritten manuscripts,
and it is surprising how much of his writing is STILL today right on the money for real,
Bible believing independent Baptists.
His writings can, and we believe will be, of great
value to any sound Baptist seeking the truths of God's Word and way for men. Brother David
Wells, the surviving competent authority and owner of these works of Norman Wells, is eager
for his father's works to be published as widely as possible, and for that reason has given
us the exclusive publishing rights as mentioned. We trust this and other works of Norman Wells
yet to be published on our web will be a real blessing to many!
